Mo’adim leSimxa=Happy Feast

Obama? McCain? Torah!

Every week, a portion of the Torah called Parashat haShavu’ais publically read in the
synagogue. Throughout the year, the whole five books of the Torah are read.

On the day that follows the Festival of Sukkot
we celebrate the conclusion of the annual cycle of public Torah readings, and the beginning of a new cycle. This celebration is called(Simxat
Torah, Rejoicing of the Torah) and it is characterized by spirited singing and dancing in the synagogue - both at the evening and the morning services. At this time the last portion of the Torah is read.
